Sharon L. Hettinger came to Saint Andrews Episcopal Church, Kansas City, MO, in January 2005, as Director of Music and Organist. She received her Masters of Music (Organ/Church Music) and Doctor of Musical Arts degree (Organ Performance) from the University of Kansas. Her Bachelor of Music degree is from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, NJ. Active in the American Guild of Organists (AGO), Sharons roles included district convener for the state of Kansas, dean and sub-dean of the Topeka Chapter, in addition to long-range planning. In the Kansas City AGO, she worked on the Regional Convention, putting together a survey of historical organs on video, in addition to a book of photographs, and details regarding the instruments. Sharon has served the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers as liaison for the Regional Convention recently held in Topeka. She is also a full carillonneur member in The Guild of Carillonneurs in North America, and performs throughout the United States. Dr. Hettinger is author of the book entitled American Organ Music of the Twentieth Century: An Annotated Bibliography of Composers. An essay by her will appear in the upcoming Festschrift, On Bunkers Hill, to honor and in memory of her colleague, J. Bunker Clark, professor of musicology at the University of Kansas. In addition, she reviews scores and books for The Diapason, a scholarly organ journal.
In her spare time, Sharon enjoys photography, hand quilting, and making music with friends, in addition to traveling with her husband Lyle, and their Golden retrievers, Andante and Sophie.

Development and Oversight of all youth programs, projects and activities with seventh grade through high school. This includes Confirmation preparation.
Rachel joined St. Andrew’s in the summer of 2006. Raised in Liberty, Missouri, Rachel grew up in the Diocese of West Missouri and attended Church of the Messiah as a child. She was actively involved in the youth diocese program as a teen, and attended Cliff Springs Camp from an early age and went on to work at the camp as a counselor and as a Permanent Member of Staff. Rachel would like to facilitate the same positive experience she had in the Church for the youth of St. Andrews. After high school, Rachel attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri, earning a degree in Psychology with minors in Art and Religion. When she isn’t running back and forth between her office and HJ’s, Rachel enjoys spending her time with her boyfriend Chris, their 2 dogs, and their friends and family. She also does a bit of freelance photography from time to time, and likes to read, write, sew, and exercise in addition to many other creative hobbies.

Development and Oversight of Education and programming for Nursery through sixth grade. Sunday School and other program activities related to this age group and support of parish families with young children.
Jean Long joined the staff of Saint Andrew's in May of 2004 and she currently holds the position of Director of Children and Family Ministries. Her responsiblities include overseeing programming for infants and children- birth through 3rd grade, including baptism, nursery during the Sunday Service, Sunday School for ages 3years- 3rd grade, Guild of the Christ Child and Vacation Bible School. Jean grew up in the Episcopal Diocese of Oklahoma and has been active in the church from an early age. She was involved in the Oklahoma Episcopal Camping program, not only as a camper but also as a counselor as a young adult, and while attending school at Oklahoma State University she led the collegiate Episcopal group on campus. Although her educational background is in nutritional sciences and she is a registered dietitian, her love for the Episcopal church and working with children brought her to this positition and she brings with her skills developed while she worked outpatient dietitian and private consultant and her own personal passion for children and the Episcopal church. Jean is married to a wonderful man, Paul, and enjoys most her position as mother to her three wonderful daughters, Madeline, Claire and Elizabeth.
