Episcopal Social Services (ESS.)
of Greater Kansas City

The Episcopal Social Services of Greater Kansas City is a joint ministry of the Kansas and West Missouri Dioceses of the Episcopal Church. Its mission is to extend Christ's ministry of compassion and healing. ESS is a significant presence in many of Kansas City’s impoverished areas, including the Northeast Wyandotte County neighborhood that is home to the Turner House Community Center (where one of our staff members was recently named Wyandotte County Youth Worker of the Year!) Other ongoing ministries include Hospital AfterCare, Meals on Wheels, Nursing Home Ministry and Parenting/Life Skills Center, as well as our partnerships with Breakfast at St. Paul’s, the Dove Art Center, FaithBUILDERS and the Turner House Clinic.  All of these programs provide numerous volunteer opportunities.

ESS: It’s a great way to grow your Christian faith, while helping others at the same time!
