A New Approach to Parish Leadership
The Vestry and staff of Saint Andrew’s attended an all-day workshop on March 6, led by Fr. Fred Mann.
A structure of commissions was presented for use by our rector. We are implementing this as a broader system that will bring together more talent and resources in the accomplishment of our goals and objectives. This commission system will also create channels of ministry accountability that will incorporate staff as well as Vestry liaisons. The following commissions have been established:
I. Social Concerns Commission: This commission will oversee programs and
ministries that reach out into the larger community.
Vestry Liaisons: Suzie Kerwin, John Aitken
Staff Liaison: Jim Moore
II. Worship Commission: Works with the Rector to develop the liturgical life
of the parish.
III. Education Commission: Oversees all aspects of education within the parish.
Vestry Liaisons: Kirstin Salzman, Brad Honnold, Heather Flick
Staff Liaison: Robin Parks; Jean Long
IV. Evangelism Commission: Develops and oversees programs and ministries for
newcomers, as well as public relations.
Vestry Liaisons: Norm Olson, Jennifer Furla
Staff Liaison: Patsy Ticknor
V. Parish Empowerment Commission: Develops and oversees programs and
ministries that relate to the internal structure of the parish.
Vestry Liaisons: Lillard Ashley, Mimi Eckels, Jim Cusser
